WISE Awards 2009, recognizing and celebrating outstanding practice and achievements within the themes of Pluralism, Sustainability and Innovation in education

The submission period for the WISE Awards 2009 has passed! We would like to thank all applicants very much for their participation.

This first year attracted more than 395 entries distributed as follows over the 3 categories: 103 applications on Pluralism / 69 on Sustainability / 226 on Innovation.
Applications were drawn from all over the world: 110 from Africa / 92 from Asia & Oceania / 80 from Europe / 35 from Middle East / 56 from North America / 25 from South and Latin America.


Committed to showcasing and rewarding exceptional educational innovations of the 21st century, the WISE Awards 2009 provide an important opportunity for participants to raise their profiles and promote their successes when the global educational community is together in Doha for the WISE Forum (16th-18th November).

All applications received before 24:00 CET on July 15th, 2009 have been reviewed by an internal panel and then by the prestigious international jury.

The 9 international jurors were tasked with identifying the six most significant achievements that have contributed to improving Pluralism, Sustainability and Innovation in the field of education.
